About My Book
Roots Run Deep: Life in the Occupied West Bank by Hamde Abu Rahma is a powerful photographic journey through life under Israeli occupation. From his home village of Bil’in, Abu Rahma documents both the pain and resilience of Palestinians, the protests, the walls, the demolished homes, but also the laughter of children and the strength of the community.

The book, born from personal loss and a commitment to nonviolent resistance, serves as both a testament and an art form. Through his lens, Abu Rahma transforms daily struggle into a visual story of endurance, dignity, and connection to the land, showing that even under occupation, the roots of hope and identity run deep.
